Watch Justice perform live in a 2000-year-old amphitheatre

Last week, in the 35 degree heat of Nîmes in the south of France, the permanently leather-cladded duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay took to the most majestic stage they’ve ever played: a 2000-year-old amphitheatre and one of the best preserved in Europe. It was part of a month-long series of events under the Le Festival de Nîmes banner, which included concerts from Bjork, Bob Dylan and, perhaps inevitably, David Guetta. With almost ten years under their studded belts – Justice’s now-classic remix of Simian’s Never Be Alone came out in 2003 but still packs a feel-good punch as this clip shows – Augé and de Rosnay have honed their live show to a perfectly-oiled demonstration of tension and release. If you squint you can spot de Rosnay at the edge of the stage in this short vid, soaking up the adoration of 10,000 kids for an unfeasibly long time before the stage – and entire amphitheatre – erupts in light and bass. Skip to the 1:45 mark to see the incredible venue in all its glory.
