Watch a 30 minute footwork battle filmed by Tim & Barry

Tim & Barry started out shooting candid photos and live performances of the grime and folk scenes in London, but have recently been working closely with the producers coming over from Chicago since footwork really exploded in this country when Planet Mu released albums by DJ Nate, DJ Roc and the first ‘Bangs & Works’ compilation in 2010.

The duo’s latest project ‘I’m Tryna Tell Ya’ is a documentary series shot in the city covering all aspects of the scene, and the second episode captures a dance battle in what looks like a local youth centre. Foundational producer RP Boo is on the decks and the dancers start out slowly, but things pick up quickly. Seriously, at points they could’ve done what David LaChappelle did with his krumping film ‘Rize’ by stating, just to be sure, that the images aren’t sped up in any way.
