Troller live at SXSW 2012

Troller are one of Adam from Survive’s – the band I caught at the start of SXSW – seemingly infinite side projects. Unlike the vast majority of side projects out there, however, Troller are in no way a lesser, duller version of the main event. In fact, Troller rule – and hard. I saw them at the Slow Pump show that Adam threw at his house in the east Austin suburbs. The Austin trio make towering, black hole evoking synth jams led by singer Amber with abstract operatic force (she starts about midway through this video). They sound like a forcefield, or like a thousand magnets suspended in the air, repelling, vibrating, filling the room with a thrilling tension.
