Tim Hecker - Black Refraction

Canadian sound artist Tim Hecker has shared a brand new visual for Black Refraction, a stilted piano track that lulls the listener into a kind of trance state. Taken from his upcoming album 'Virgins', one of his most enchanting and soft-focus works, the piece is symptomatic of the pared-back nature of the whole record, and the video (by Sabrina Ratté) continues this thread by focussing solely on one image of what seems to be an urn swinging like a pendulum in a church, captured blearily on film and occasionally fading all the way to black, creating a hypnotising watch.
