The Asphodells - Beglammered

Andrew Weatherall is turning 50 this year. Having been been involved in various projects over his 25 year career and having been behind an uncountable amount of classics in his time, you could probably accept it if he were to hang up his coat (said coat would probably be immaculate and dapper as well). And yet, not only does he never seem to take a moment off, the music that he is releasing today is still as fresh, exciting and relevant as it ever has been.

Weatherall’s newest project is a collaboration with Timothy J. Fairplay known as The Asphodells. One of the first tracks to be released from The Asphodells’ forthcoming album, ‘Ruled By Passion, Destroyed By Lust’, is Beglammered, an Eastern-tinged chugger. It’s slow, psychedelic disco designed for big sound systems in small basements and, like the rest of the record, it’s great.

Rotters Golf Club will release ‘Ruled By Passion, Destroyed By Lust’ on February 4th.
