Slackk - Silk Robe/Room Made Vague

Liverpudlian producer Slackk is known for making foreboding left-field grime tracks (Hey! here’s a new track of his like that called Laura Palmer) but there is more to him than that. As Patrice & Friends he flips super-smooth tracks from the past into mutant dance, and his next release has a similar air. Lead by a horn sample that carries the weight of the world and evokes tumblers of whiskey in penthouse suites, Silk Robe is certainly bolshy but more than a little suave too. However, never one to play it totally straight, the video for the track features microscopic images of the male peacock spiders’ impressive courtship rituals and is closed by a preview of the more sinister Room Made Vague. Both will be featured on his EP ‘Failed Gods’, out on Local Action soon.
