For a special Boiler Room event at the W Hotel in Times Square that drew names like Kenny Dope, Cam’Ron and Pete Rock, Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth and A$AP Mob live DJ J.Scott opened with a special back-to-back set. Appropriately for a setting that, according to the hotel’s official description, is “perched above the ‘Crossroads of the World’”, the DJs donned customary bath robes and played a mostly-hip hop set that comfortably placed mega-hits like No New Friends with left-field edits and songs from lesser known or half-forgetten favourites.
