Rainer - Girls

Leftfield pop duo Rainer's Girls is complex but catchy, a song that came about when singer and songwriter Rebekah Raa was struck by the absurdity of the amount of effort that girls put into making themselves up for a night out, and meditates on producer Casually Here's off-kilter but cushioned beat. The video, directed by Rainer and filmed by Phil Sharp, is an appropriately abstracted take on the issue, with mirrored shots of detached bodies dancing jerkily and lips singing softly moving from stark and angular to kaleidoscopic and back again.

Rainer are playing a launch party for the double A-side single Girls/Money tonight (September 9th) at Birthdays. Rainer are joining Darkstar, Larry Gus, Only Real, Eaux and more at Dummy's inaugural Artist General Meeting at London Fields Brewery on the 28th and 29th of this month – full details of the event are here.
