Premiere: Rhye - The Fall (Maurice Fulton alt remix)

We covered Rhye’s The Fall quite recently, so it was a great pleasure to learn that the original song had been reinterpreted by none other than Maurice Fulton, Sheffield’s king of the oddball disco. Fulton’s remixes don’t come too often, so when they do, they generally get the ‘essential listening’ tag, and this one’s no different, transforming Rhye’s faintly sombre original into a funktastic boogie tune.

The video for Fulton’s mix is re-edited footage of some of the best dance moves from the legendary TV variety show Soul Train. If you want to see the video for Rhye’s original for comparison, you can watch it here, though we can’t guarantee that it’s quite as much fun.
