Premiere: CFCF - Beyond Light

CFCF teased new song Beyond Light last week and it's been given a bright and bold new video that fits in with its title. The video, directed by Derrick Belcham and Ruby Kato Attwood, is really cool, the sort that you wish you could watch on a nine metre cinema screen. None of the images are computer-generated, despite how it might look. 

"Ruby and I created everything in it from chemicals, housewares and toys we bought on a trip to a local department store," Derrick Belcham tells us via email. "Each element is the result of an experiment in which a light source, an 'effector', and a subject, were aligned in series with the RED Scarlet camera. Through a series of those experiments, we built up a palette of colours, textures and perceived symbols that we then edited them into a narrative series matching our interpretation of the song."

Beyond Light is a taster from CFCF's forthcoming second album 'Outside', due out via Paper Bag (US) and our own Dummy Records (rest of world).
