Planningtorock - Welcome
Best news of today: Jam Rostron aka Planningtorock is releasing a new album next year called 'All Love's Legal'.
Musically, PTR hasn't exactly been quiet since the release of her DFA album 'W' back in 2011, putting out amazing singles for International Women's Day, remixing The Knife and starting her own label, Human Level Recordings. But if she's been busy musically, she's been even busier politically, and 'All Love's Legal' will represent a newfound goal of creating inspiring and liberating music – something placing the new record in a similar political territory as her pals The Knife's 'Shaking The Habitual'. A press release says that 'All Love's Legal' will leave you "in no doubt as to the seriousness of her vision of transnational gender equality", something captured bluntly in the track titles (Beyond Binary Binds!) – although if you've heard the International Women's Day anthems Patriarchy Over & Out and Misogny Drop Dead before, that point should be pretty clear already.
The ecstatic opening track of the album, Welcome, has been shared ahead of the full-length, with a video directed by PTR herself. It's essentially just one lyric, but as opening lines for albums go, you can't really top "fall in love with whoever you want to."
