The hip hop and R&B superstars rise from the ashes to rule the world. Just a normal day, then.
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have been hyping this video since January, when Nicki tweeted a pic of the two of them on set. The ballad-y one from Nicki’s debut album ‘Pink Friday’, Fly is a fierce, brutally honest song about keeping your chin up in the face of haters. The video was put back a bunch of times but finally premiered at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. Directed by Sanaa Hamri, it stars Nicki and Rihanna as the only two girls in the world amidst the wreckage of a plane crash in suburbia. The most ambitious of Nicki’s videos so far, it matches Missy Elliot for ludicrous brillance.
