Mariah Carey ft. Miguel - #Beautiful

Mariah Carey has collaborated with Miguel for #Beautiful – the second single from her upcoming album following the forgettable Triumphant with MMG duo Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Her as-yet-untitled 14th album will the first – bar a traditional Christmas album and a greatest hits collection – since 2009’s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’, a project written and produced with The-Dream and Tricky Stewart that turned out to be more of a review than a radio killer.

This new hook-up with Miguel seems a bit impossible to dislike or ignore. Her near-mythical vocal ability teams with his eclectic retro-leaning style for what will probably (hopefully) be the song of the summer, a mid-tempo duet that knows it’s a bit silly but isn’t arch or willful about it. The video, directed by Joseph Khan, is all shining colour, soft light and soft curves and it’s fun to watch too.
