Laurie Anderson’s dog plays the piano

Here are four videos of Lolabelle, the great electronic musician and performance artist Laurie Anderson's dog, playing an electric keyboard and barking.

On Friday night, Laurie Anderson performed her new solo show Dirtday! Antony’s Meltdown festival. Among the many highlights of the 60-year-old New York electronic musician’s show were musings on the quality of dreams and the nature of death, some beautiful violin-playing and clips of her rat terrier Lolabelle, who was taught to play music. Here are four videos of this dog performing at art spaces and house shows.

And for a reminder of how good Lollabelle’s owner is, here’s O Superman, her minimal masterstroke which (astonishingly) hit #2 in 1981.
