Jonny Greenwood, famous for being in the most interesting popular band / most popular interesting band of the last ten, twenty years, if not longer, performed all over Poland this weekend. He played with Aphex Twin (!) the night before at the European Culture Congress, but some great guy was at at Sacrum Profanum festival on Sunday night to film the man play one of minimal composer Steve Reich’s most loved pieces, Electric Counterpoint. Originally played by Pat Metheny, the piece is made up of 11 parts, all played by the same performers, with 10 looped beforehand, and the 11th played live over the top. Press play, and gasp.
