Jacques Greene - 1 4 Me

Canadian producer Jacques Greene is readying a new EP, ‘After Life After Party’, out through LuckyMe on November 11th. This all follows his move from his home in Canada to New York, with his studio now located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

1 4 Me is the second track on the EP and the first to be released from the release. Sonically, it’s classic Greene – shuffling drums and muffled vocals permeating throughout. Talking about the track, he says, "1 4 Me was trying to challenge myself to keep an arrangement dead simple." Dead simple.

Across the rest of the EP, Greene utilises the sheen of digital production – "still present are the signature, layered 707 rim shots and techno homages, but this record is born entirely out of cheap Trance presets", says its press release.

Accompanying the track is a video featuring a poolside scene as a mysterious stranger sits contemplatively before testing the waters and leaving his trainers behind. This comes ahead of his headline Halloween show this Friday with support from Koreless at the Roundhouse in London.
