Planet Mu experimentalist teams up with director Aurora Halal for latest visual treatment.
After releasing his LP ‘Hive Mind’ in February and touring with his new live show, Daniel Martin-McCormick as Ital has proven his voracious appetite for output with a second LP for Planet Mu this year entitled ‘Dream On’. Directly inspired by the touring experience and the hazy late-night sessions that come with it, ‘Dream On’ is a whirlwind of acid house, techno and disco that begs for an equally trippy visual realisation.
For his first single Boi Ital found his aesthetic match in Aurora Halal, the Brooklyn-based visual artist who cuts an equally impressive figure as one half of progressive disco band Innergaze. Taken from ‘Dream On’, Boi slices an alluring Beyonce vocal sample into a synaesthetic and discordant haze that, as a visual and aural experience, lends greatly to the intriguing resurgence of the experimental music video in recent years.
