Grimes - Nightmusic ft. Majical Cloudz

Like most Claire Boucher’s visual output, the video to Nightmusic is a trip. It takes place in the forest, and director John Londono pulls no punches in portraying Grimes as full of fantasy, down to the wood-queen crown, which is pretty brave considering the number of lazy journalists that have used the word “elfin” to describe her. But then Grimes, thankfully, is neither lazy nor cowardly, and is very interested in playing with perception and role and fantasy and the media itself. This is another sign, were more needed, that Grimes is a popstar.
