Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes

Until the Quiet Comes is the name of Flying Lotus’ much-anticipated upcoming album, set for release in October, and now it’s also the name of a stunning three minute film by Kahlil Joseph.

Acting as a kind of album trailer, the film is a vehicle for FlyLo fans to hear music from the imminent new album for the first time; more than that, though, it’s also an enchanting watch in its own right. Strung together by quiet, wistful moments, the three tracks that appear in the video have been named as ‘I See Thru To U (feat. Erykah Badu)’, ‘Hunger (feat. Niki Randa)’ and ‘Getting There (feat. Niki Randa)’.

Each one provides an introspective, delicate backdrop to a ballet-esque performance of gun crime. With some unexpected dance moves and brilliant T-shirt slogans, this is the most charming, thought-provoking and subtle video we’ve seen of its kind, and does a perfect job of providing some insight into the record to come.
