Blood Orange - Uncle ACE (Kindness remix feat. Robert Owens)

Kindness lends his talents as Dev Hynes heads home to Ilford, with added vocals from the former Fingers Inc. man.

Blood Orange is readying a 12" of Uncle ACE,  one of several sumptuous sax-led tracks off last year's 'Cupid's Deluxe'. As is tradition, the 12" features remixes, one courtesy of synth-y analog duo a/jus/ted, and another from Kindness (aka Adam Bainbridge). If that second one wasn't news enough, Bainbridge also roped in famed house voice Robert Owens for his contribution, and is back on director duty for the remix's video.

The video is a simple but sweet affair, picking up on the familial feel of Chamakay's Bainbridge-directed video left off, which followed Dev Hynes' first trip back to his mother's birthplace in Guyana. Dev's back in his hometown of Ilford, with quickfire interview-type questions like "At what age did you first hear music?" and "Did you have any other interests as a teenger" answered with static shots of a primary school and the local library respectively. Later, Dev attempts to have a kickabout with Adam in the park, which doesn't work out so well.

Domino will release the 'Uncle ACE' 12" May 19th 2014 (pre-order).
