Amateur Best - Ready For The Good Life (live)

Multi-talented musician and part-time comic book artist Joe Flory, the man behind Amateur Best's eclectic electronic pop, recently recorded an acoustic version of the crazy catchy Ready For The Good Life for Dummy. A stripped-back take on the opening track from his latest studio effort 'No Thrills', it's a wistful, soul-filled session containing a simultaneous apprehension and shy optimism that's miles away from the upbeat original. But the absence of a funky bassline and blippy synths is far from a bad thing, as it allows Flory's velvety voice to steal the spotlight instead, revealing the sort of subtle, romantic sensibility that can only belong to a proper pop crooner.
