Acteurs - Cloud Generating Exhilarating exercise in anxiety in the debut video from new Chicago duo.
London label Public Information, who you may recall released a compilation of impossibly optimistic library music entitled ‘Tomorrow’s Achievements’ back in October, kick off 2013 in an entirely different zone. Acteurs are a production duo from Chicago who are responsible for some of the most anxiety-piquing music I’ve ever heard. Stretching repetition to its limits, they eke out sweat-and-salt primal feelings from modular synths on Cloud Generating, the lead track from their self-titled debut mini-album. Coming on like a peek through a microscope at viciously alien single-cell organisms, this minimal but effective video heightens the mood ten-fold. The rush of relief when you stop listening is oh-so sweet, but here’s betting you’ll hit play again.
Public Information will release Acteurs’ self-titled debut mini-album on 11th Feb 2013.
