Watch: Kanye West's American Idol audition

Kanye West has made it through to the next round of Fox's American Idol.

Supported by his wife Kim Kardashian West, the rising Chicago-based rapper impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. with an impressive acapella performance of Gold Digger – a cover of Jamie Foxx and Yeezus' 2005 single.

Kanye's victorious audition will now see the Southside hopeful take his golden ticket to Hollywood, with the final series of the show starting on American television on January 6th. Kanye West previously played live on the show with Katy Perry in 2011, as well as performing Heartless in the same year.
