Toro y Moi's Chaz Bundick announces 'Michael', his debut album as Les Sins

Bundick's house-leaning alter ego lines up a debut album indebted to classic dance music, French touch, and '90s hip hop beatmaking. Stream new song Bother now.

Chaz Bundick, who most of you will know by his stage name Toro y Moi, first debuted his Les Sins project with a release on Jiaolong, the label owned by Dan Snaith (Caribou/Daphni). Looking more towards house music than the soft rock of his other project, Bundick has now announced details of a full Les Sins album called 'Michael'.

Recorded over two years at Bundick's home studio, the record takes inspiration from cartoon and movie soundtracks, classic dance and pop music, French touch, '90s hip hop beatmaking, and artists like Daft Punk, Mr. Oizo, and Motor City Drum Ensemble. Like Bundick's music as Toro y Moi, it's music with classic reference points that ends up coming out skewed after being filtered through his own head.

You can stream a new track from the album, called Bother, now.

08. Sticky
