The Very Best return with second album 'MTMTMK'

The Malawian/Swedish duo will release the second album via Moshi Moshi Records, and it will feature an interesting list of guest appearances.

The Very Best just announced that the follow-up to their debut album ‘Warm Heart Of Africa’ on June 16th, via Moshi Moshi Records. ‘MTMTMK’ was recorded over five weeks in Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya’s hometown of Lilongwe, Malaw. It features an interesting list of guests, with the likes of Amadou & Mariam, Baaba Maal and K’naan all making an appearance.

Featuring Esau and London-based Swedish producer Johan Hugo, the group first met in a London second-hand bike shop in 2007. After Johan and Radioclit partner Etienne Tron invited Esau into their recording studio, they recorded their fist mixtape which quickly went viral. ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ was released in 2009, and included collaborations from artists such as MIA and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig. Etienne departed Radioclit leaving The Very Best to work as a duo on ‘MTMTMK’.
