The star-studded documentary about Roland's influential drum machine premieres at BFI Southbank on August 8th, with a DJ set from Andrew Weatherall afterwards.

808, the long-awaited documentary about Roland's insanely influential TR-808 drum machine, will receive its UK premiere in London on August 8th (8/08, if you're not paying attention) at 8:08pm.

The documentary features interviews with… well, basically with anyone and everyone who has an opinion on the 808. There's Afrika Bambaataa, Rick Rubin, A Guy Called Gerald, Damon Albarn, Diplo, Chris Frantz, Pharrell Williams, Lil John, David Guetta and loads, loads more.

The showing will take place at BFI Southbank as part of their Sonic Cinema series, with tickets going on sale at 11.30am on July 14th. After the screening, you'll be able to catch DJ sets from Andrew Weatherall and Andy Lewis at the Benugo bar, which is also pretty tidy.

The documentary was first screened at SXSW earlier this year. Check out a trailer above.
