SOPHIE is writing a song for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu!

The futurist pop producer interviews the J-pop star and reveals that he's writing a song with her.

SOPHIE is writing a song with J-pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is best known outside of Japan for her outrageous, elaborate outfits and extraordinarily catchy pop songs. SOPHIE, meanwhile, is an elusive character, but one of the most fascinating musicians working today, best known for his unstoppable single Bipp last year.

For Dazed & Confused, SOPHIE interviewed Kyary, asking her questions about the scariest sounds in the world and the cutest sounds in the world, as well as what music will sound like in 50 years time. There's also a brilliant photo gallery, featuring SOPHIE (wearing a latex glove, obviously) passing objects to Kyary and gauging her opinion on whether they're "kawaii" (which you can quite roughly translate as "cute") or not. Said objects include: tyres, aubergines, octopuses, beach balls.

Interestingly, the article also lets drop that SOPHIE is writing a song with Kyary, as are French electro pop outfit Yelle. Colour us intrigued!

SOPHIE was recently announced as the special guest for Dummy's stage at the Camden Crawl next month. He joins Laurel Halo, Kuedo, Visionist, and more at the Jazz Cafe on June 20th.
