RIP Shaun Bloodworth

Renown Sheffield based photographer Shaun Bloodworth sadly passed away this afternoon. He fell sick with an infection several months ago whilst awaiting a liver transplant, which led to the subsequent amputation of his lower leg.

One of the most respected photographers in underground music and beyond, he documented the rise of dubstep in the UK and shot photographs of some of the underground's biggest artists such as Benga, Skream, Hudson Mohawke, Ikonika, and Sheffield local Toddla T. However, Shaun's iconic portraits for the Rinse mix series are probably his most notable and recognised work, as well as genre-defining album covers for Tempa.

It was hoped he would make a recovery after being given the green light for his transplant, and the #RaveForShaun event was organised for this evening to help raise funds to aid his rehabilitation and after-care.

Online tributes are pouring in for Shaun, with the fundraiser set to go ahead at XOYO tonight on his family's wishes.

The #RaveForShaun fundraiser at XOYO will still go ahead in celebration of Shaun's life and career.

#The RaveForShaun fundraiser takes place tonight at XOYO, Shoreditch (info).
