Police hunt alleged rapist after 15-year-old girl reports sexual assault at Bestival
On the final evening of Bestival, a 15-year-old girl was reportedly raped. The victim told police that a man approached her during Robyn’s set on Sunday night, and led her away, with the assault taking place between 7.30 and 8.30pm. The attacker was described as black, in his 20s, about 6ft tall, and of large muscular build with braided hair, wearing a white top with a navy blue collar and navy blue short sleeves, and wellington boots.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses who know this man or who may have seen someone matching this description walking with a teenage girl in or near the Bestival main area on the evening of Sunday.” Witnesses are urged to contact the Isle of Wight CID on iow.cid@hampshire.pnn.police.uk or by phoning 101.
