Oneohtrix Point Never is presenting a live soundtrack to Koji Morimoto's Magnetic Rose

As part of an open air series of cinema events taking place at an observatory in Cheshire, Oneohtrix Point Never will present a live soundtrack to Koji Morimoto's sci-fi anime Magnetic Rose.

Oneohtrix Point Never will be contributing a live score to Koji Morimoto's Magnetic Rose in October.

Taking place in a rad-looking open air space by the University of Manchester's Jodrell Bank Observatory as part of Abandon Normal Devices (AND)'s Outdoor Cinema series, Oneohtrix Point Never will be contributing a live soundtrack to Koji Morimoto's 1996 film Magnetic Rose. The film is the first part of 'Memories', an animated triptych by Morimoto (who most will recognise as the director of Akira) and others, and is set in the year 2092, where a group from a salvage freighter in deep space stumble upon a structure that draws them into a world created by one woman's memories.

The event takes place on Saturday October 4th. Tickets go on sale today (August 26th) at 12pm.
