"I wanted to conflate really aggressive music with sugary pop progressions."
Song Exploder is a podcast by Hrishikesh Hirway who asks artists to break down a single song and provide an insight into how they are made.
The latest installment features Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never, who's charged with dissecting Sticky Drama, the lead single from his recent album 'Garden of Delete'. In the episode, Lopatin discusses the artificial voices he created using software for the vocals and how he sees his songs as pieces of science fiction. "I wanted to conflate really aggressive music with sugary pop progressions," he says. Listen to it in full below.
