Auckland's multi-talented collective Leisure will headline the show with support from Vase's Kit Grill.
We are very happy to announce that Leisure will headline a free Dummy Presents show at Miranda, Ace Hotel on Tuesday October 27th.
Leisure are five musicians, songwriters, vocalists and producers from Auckland. Together, they are more of a collective than just ‘a band’, flaunting additional talents as artists, photographers and filmmakers. Musically they sound just like their blisteringly hot artworks suggest. A pinky ring flecked hand on Got It Bad and the perfectly manicured, Blue Lagoon clutching digits of Hot Love all evoke feelings of exotic ‘80s package holidays in St. Tropez, lying on a sun lounger next to a preened supermodel. Leisure are lush, soft and serene.
Support comes from the London link of Jacques Greene and Joe Coghill’s luminary label Vase Records. Kit Grill explores deep sounds with flashes of crystal clear pools, palm trees, car chases and the kind of balloons you only get at the fairground. Kit’s alluring aesthetic is accompanied by music that is just as blissful, with recent EP ‘Paradise’ showcasing his talents for melancholic keys, muted highs, delicate percussion and robotic chatter.
Further support acts to be announced.
Leisure and Kit Grill play Miranda, Ace Hotel on October 27th as part of Dummy’s monthly event series (free entry - RSVP).
