Joy Orbison launches record label

Joy Orbison, one of the best house / bass producers in the UK, has set up a record label with Will Bankhead, in-house designer for excellent London label and record shop Honest Jon’s.

Details are scant at the moment, but the below mix by Joy O suggests Hinge Finger hold a soft-spot for deep house with his trademark mix of delicacy and swagger. According to FACT, the imprint will be distributed through Honest Jon’s; more details when we know.

It’s not the pair’s first foray into releasing records – Will has put out Hype Williams and others on his Trilogy Tapes label, while Joy (Peter O’Grady to his accountant) has employed Will to design covers for his Doldrums label.
