Jorja Smith, Kojey Radical and Benny Mails among UMA Awards nominees

The nominees for The Unsigned Music Awards 2018 have been announced. A 100-strong voting panel of professionals and influencers from across the UK’s music industry have cast their votes, and from an initial list of 10,000 applicants, this has been streamlined down to 16 categories with five acts in each.

Across the list, the likes of Jorja Smith, Tom Misch, Kojey Radical, Benny Mails, Dave, Poppy Ajudha, Oscar Jerome and more have been nominated for gongs across Best Urban Act, Best Male Solo Act, Best Female Solo Act and Best Music Video. The aim of the UMAs is to represent the very best in independent and unsigned UK talent across all genres and will take place on May 16th to kick off the 13th edition of The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
