Google launches new feature that helps you see more gigs

Helpful search engine just became even more helpful with the launch of a feature that shows upcoming tour dates when you search for artists.

Internet bosses Google have announced the launch of a brand new feature that displays upcoming live dates for artists that you search for on its search engine.

In a blog post, Google product manager Kavi Goel explained the feature, clarifying “now when you search for bands or artists, you may see upcoming concert tour dates right on the results page if they’re playing in your area. If they aren’t touring near you, the new results for concerts won’t appear, but if the band happens to be coming to your town within the next few months, you can see the concert dates listed under the band’s official website.”

As well as making it a lot easier not to have those pangs of regret when you realise you’ve missed a band you like playing locally, the feature also cuts out the middle man by making ticket purchasing a much quicker process.

The feature is currently only available in English, but will soon expand to other countries.
