Damon Albarn and co have shared some music from their Congo project

Listen here to a snippet preview of what Albarn, Actress, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and others have been up to in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In an Oxfam-sponsored project that follows in the footsteps of his brilliant ‘Mali Music’, Damon Albarn is in the Democratic Republic of Congo right now making a record under the working title DRC Music. Joining him are the likes of Actress, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, XL label boss Richard Russell, Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Marc Antoine, Jo Gunton and Kwes.

The group have been busily posting photos and updates via their Tumblr and Twitter feeds, and yesterday (Tuesday 26th July) they posted the first audio snippet, allowing us a sneak preview into the heart of the project itself. The clip, entitled “Hallo”, has a woozy vibe, packed full of summery heat and the fusing of electronic with organic sounds. Listen to it below.
