Bloc announce 2013 line-ups

Juan Atkins, Surgeon, Shackleton and the L.I.E.S. crew will feature in the second incarnation of Bloc London.

The debacle that surrounded Bloc festival in London last year has been well-documented already, but you have to hand it to them for determination. Despite the company behind Bloc going into administration in July, today the festival unveiled a series of lower key events taking place between March and June with some truly top notch line-ups. Dance music legends such as Juan Atkins, The Egyptian Lover, and Marshall Jefferson will appear alongside the new wave of artists including the L.I.E.S. crew and Cosmin TRG.

The new incarnation of the festival seems to have been made possible by handing over the brand to a new events company, meaning that the current Bloc is not legally liable for the event of last year’s Bloc. A statement on the legal section of Bloc’s website clarifies that “The events advertised on this site are promoted by HB Events Ltd. under license from Bloc Holdings. HB Events Ltd. cannot accept liability for any claims relating to the administration of Baselogic Productions Ltd.”

The line-up definitely looks exciting, but beneath the announcements on Facebook many people are already voicing frustration at the organisation of last year’s festival and the lack of refunds on their tickets – which, given the statement above, they still seem unlikely to receive.
