Arthur Russell's 'Let's Go Swimming' is finally getting a proper release, and Walter Gibbons-directe

Audika are granting the stunning 1986 track the full reissue it deserves later this month.

The urgent, ticking bomb of a song Let’s Go Swimming , Arthur Russell’s prescient 1986 track, is finally being given a full release later this month.

Audika will be releasing the single as a 12”, CD and download, and the release will include several mixes of the song, including the Gulf Stream Dub, Puppy Surf Dub and Coastal Dub, as well as an 11-minute keyboard funk version of Make 1,2 .

The video below was made for the track by Walter Gibbons and a relentless VHS pause button, and was recently unearthed by Arthur Russell’s partner Tom Lee. As you watch and listen, try to imagine that it’s 1986, and have your mind blown.

Audika will release ‘Let’s Go Swimming’ on the 27th September 2011.
