Animal Collective spill beans on new album

15 songs written, with recording to begin in January, reveals frontman Avey Tare.

Deep-V t-shirts out of the wardrobe, the hipster revival is beginning: Animal Collective are going back in the studio. After two years since ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’ marked a career-high for the Baltimore/Brooklyn psyche band, they have written over 15 songs, and will begin recording in Baltimore January, Avey Tare revealed in an interview with Madison.com:

“We just finished another two weeks of writing sessions and put together five new songs,” he said, noting that the crew plans to begin full recording sessions in January. “We’re really excited about this record … and it’s been really fun jamming with those guys again.”
