Who are annoymous collective Close?

A group of pretty famous yet for now faceless (with the exception of Scuba) producers are working on an album together, and they've posted some ethereal song clips on a similarly ethereal website.

A new website went up a little while ago called Close. It doesn’t contain much. Just three clips of three songs – at the moment these are Beam Me Up, Inside and I Died A 1000 Times, but they’ll change at some point – and the following text:

CLOSE IS THE BRAINCHILD OF AN ARTIST WHO INITIALLY WISHES TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS. YOU CAN HEAR 3 CLIPS OF TRACKS FROM HIS FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUMGETTING CLOSER’ BY CLICKING ON THE NUMBER BUTTONS. CLOSE WILL BE CHANGING THE CLIPS FREQUENTLY SO CHECK BACK IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE TO HEAR SOME MORE OF THE ALBUM.”

It’s the work of a collective of musicians and vocalists, apparently pretty well known. Scuba has already admitted to having something to do with it, and it’s true the kick in Beam Me Up isn’t a million miles away from the kick in Adrenalin. The rest of them aren’t telling yet, but it sounds like strong stuff from what’s available. Ethereal, dreamy sounds underpinned by some strong club flex. For a longer look at what they’re about, you can also hear their remix of Little Dragon’s Crystalfilm which is up on their Soundcloud.

Little Dragon – Crystalfilm (Close Remix) by Close Music

The album ‘Getting Closer’ is out next year, and it will probably be revealed soon who they all are, but for now, have a listen and have a guess.
