The Northampton rapper returns with a new banger.
The small town of Northampton isn't known for its musical talents, but the unorthodox spitter, slowthai, is about to change all of that. Though not prolific as far as releasing music, what we have heard from the rapper/producer has been nothing short of hard. His debut project, 'slowitdownn', which dropped earlier this year was his official introduction, perfectly getting across his penchant for braggadocio, mixed with social commentary of the grittier side of life in his place of birth.
Today he releases a fresh new single on the Bone Soda label, 'Murder'. Over a hypnotic piano-ridden instrumental produced by Kwes Darko (aka Blue Daisy), slowthai is crystal clear as he goes about chasing the greatness that he is destined for. Savage wordplay and and his gruffly vocals add realism to his bars, as the track's intensity increases with every of the song three and a half minutes. The year promises more music from slowthai, and a performance at Boy Better Know's takeover of the o2 Arena later this month, so don't sleep.
