Premiere: Hagan - Ashanti Riddim

With previous releases on breakout club labels like Beat Werk and Strut Records, UK producer Hagan has spent the last few years honing his sound, which is inspired by a mix of funky, afrobeat, Baile funk and, more recently, gqom.

His musical discoveries – including a stint in Ghana last summer working with local musicians – have taken him to the world and back, and this is evident in his new track ‘Ashanti Riddim’. Steeped in tribal, afro, percussive vibes, it is an infectious blend of Afro and UK Funky sounds and rolling subs, and a wondrous sign of things to come.
