The Glasgow-based duo bring African polyrhythms to an edit that is far removed from its original form.
General Ludd has remixed Formation's Leon Vynehall-produced single Pleasure, the lead single from the duo's debut album expected for release in late summer.
Stretching the song into a seven-minute workout, the Glasgow-based duo's edit is a gradually building affair with hollowed out bongos and a house beat as its main ingredient, fusing the African polyrhythms into a slow-burner that is reminiscent of General Ludd's 'Autonomous Africa Vol. 3' contribution Burning Mack. It's far removed from the original, with Will Ritson's politically focused lyrics a distant memory as the song reaches its summit with a synth melody and digital breakdown weaved into the sunrise capturing finish.
