Premiere: Django Django - Default (JD Twitch Remix)

Django Django are an east London band who have been injecting guitar pop with playful fun and ingenuity for a little while now – see our interview with them from 2009 here. On the 30th of January they are set to release their debut self-titled album.

In the meantime, they’re releasing the first single from the album Default a boisterous, upbeat romp of a track. It comes with a remix from Optimo’s JD Twitch, which you can exclusively hear below:

Twitch turns the perky bounce of the original into something a lot darker, the jerky vocals of the chorus turned sinister by mangled electronics and the kind of steely industrial propulsion we’ve come to know from the also one time Optimo remixed, Factory Floor.

It’s also worth mentioning that JD Twitch is soon set to headline modern classical label Nonclassical’s next club night at XOYO, which centres around the theme of minimalism. Further details here.
