M/M - ULTRACHROME

M/M is the new recording name of Brooklyn’s Michael McGregor who used to magic up rolling ambience as Meadowlands. In neat new form M/M, however, he’s set his sights on techno of the granular yet groovy kind. Not groovy groovy but in-a-groove, with some buried-but-very-much-alive funk to it. It’s like Berlin’s minimal techno and McGregor’s ambient past meeting somewhere in the middle and having a zoned-out party. A particular highlight on his debut EP ‘ULTRACHROME’, streamable in full here, is final track Induction. Plus, also check this excellent M/M mix, below, of slow-burn soul for weekend wandering.
