Listen: Unknown Mortal Orchestra – Can't Keep Checking My Phone (SILICON Rework)

Over the last few months, Hawaiian-New Zealand brothers Ruban and Kody Nielson (better known musically as Unknown Mortal Orchestra and SILICON respectively), have been busy reworking each other's songs to dynamic effect. First Ruban reinterpreted Kody's song Cellphone as a slice of eerie breakbeat psyche. Now, Kody has recast Ruban's hallucinatory disco anthem Can't Keep Checking My Phone as a piece of sleek retrofuturist space-funk, straight out of the 'Personal' Computer playbook.

On the April 1st, Kody and Ruban will release a split 7" record featuring both reworks. Unknown Mortal Orchestra has also just announced shows throughout South America and North America here. Read our 2015 interview with Silicon here.
