Splitting Claire Boucher’s vocals into brief animalistic yelps and dragging them out over an angry swamp of noises, Stalker reaches into this lovely Grimes goth-pop track and distorts it into something sinister, something ominous. The song, taken from Grimes’ split 12” with d’Eon, Darkbloom , was also remixed by Babe Rainbow earlier this month , in a rework that stretched the song out into a slow, languid re-imagining of itself. Is there any version of this track that isn’t worth listening to?
