Creeping dread and hyperspeed rhythms from the avant-garde artist's debut album.
Fatima Al Qadiri's debut album 'Asiatisch' is near. The album's concept is intriguing - it "revolves around the fantasies of east Asia as refracted through pulpy Western pop culture, in particular, Hollywood, literary fiction, music, cartoons and advertising."
Then again, if you're not into all that conceptual malarkey and just want to let the music to do the talking, then you can surely appreciate the hyperspeed rhythms, elaborate melodies, and creeping dread that punctuates Shanghai Freeway, the latest track to surface from the album.
Hyperdub release 'Asiatisch' on May 5th 2014.
