D-E-W-L - Nobody Make A Sound

D-E-W-L are comprised of Leon Jean-Marie and John Harrison, a duo who’ve been producing and remixing out of their East London studio for artists like St. Lucia and Foxes for a couple of years. Last year, they decided to start focusing more on their own sounds – the fruits of which can now be felt in thrillingly realised debut single, Nobody Make A Sound.

While its R&B aches feel a little post- How To Dress Well, it’s the ease with which the hushed vocal is wrapped around such brain-rattling bass that captivates. There are echoes of 100th Window-era Massive Attack in the way those spacey rhythms crackle, and even as the atmosphere of Nobody Makes A Sound opens up, it’s still undercut by an enticing air of unresolved tension. Intriguing stuff.

Make Mine will release the Don’t Make A Sound single on the 25th February
