With his album ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ announced for early next year, one of the most eye-catching tracks on the tracklist – the posse cut 1 Train – is now available to stream. A rumbling, Hitboy-fuelled track featuring a sextet of rappers from all across the U.S. at varying degrees of emergent success, it’s a interesting exercise, but as with any cypher, favours forceful and exemplary technicians over accomplished aesthetes – which is a bit of a questionable move for a rapper like Rocky. Unsurprisingly, this one is led by an incredible Danny Brown and the studious pair Kendrick Lamar and Big K.R.I.T., with the rest left somewhere in their wake.
